Every Mississippian has a state representative and a state senator. These are the people making decisions about your schools, your healthcare, your community — and they work for you. Find out who they are in seconds.
Step 1 of Advocacy
Enter Your Home Address
Your district is determined by where you live. Enter your Mississippi address and we'll find your House representative and Senate member — with their contact information.
Your address is used only to determine your district. We do not store it.
Please enter a Mississippi street address including city and zip code — for example: 123 Main St, Jackson, MS 39201
Your Mississippi Legislators
Prefer to look it up directly?
The Mississippi Legislature's official "Find Your Legislator" tool searches by address and shows full contact info.
Most people have never contacted their legislator. Most legislators have never heard from most of their constituents. That silence is being interpreted as agreement.
🗳️
They represent your district
Your state representative and senator were elected specifically to represent the people in your geographic district. Your voice is literally what their job description says they are supposed to respond to.
📞
Constituent calls are counted
Legislative staff tally constituent contact on active bills. Ten calls from real district residents gets reported to the legislator that afternoon. You do not need thousands of people — you need real people from their district.
🤝
Relationships are built off-season
The legislators who champion your issues are the ones who know you before session starts. Reaching out now — not in January when everyone is scrambling — is how you build the relationship that moves the bill.
How to Reach Them
Three Ways to Make Contact
You have more options than you think — and each one serves a different purpose.
📞
Call the Capitol Office
During session, legislators are at the Capitol and their staff answer calls. State your name, your city, your issue, and your ask in under 60 seconds. It doesn't have to be long to count.
Best during session · Jan–May
📧
Send an Email
Email reaches them year-round. A well-written constituent email with a specific ask gets read. Keep it to three paragraphs: who you are, what you want, why it matters to their district.
Best year-round for relationship building
🤝
Request a Meeting
Off-session, legislators are in their districts and more available for in-person meetings. A face-to-face conversation in their hometown is worth more than ten emails. Bring a one-pager and a specific ask.
Best off-season · May–December
What to Say
Scripts You Can Use Right Now

📞 Phone Call Script — 45 seconds
"Hi, my name is [Your Name] and I'm a constituent calling from [Your City]. I'm calling to ask Representative / Senator [Name] to [your specific ask — support/oppose a bill, schedule a hearing, etc.]. This issue affects [brief reason — families in our district, small businesses, students, etc.]. Thank you for passing along my message."
My name is [Your Name] and I am a constituent from [Your City, District Number if known]. I am writing to ask for your support on [specific bill number or issue].
[Two to three sentences explaining why this issue matters — use a personal story or a local data point if you have one.]
I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you or your staff about this issue. I can be reached at [your phone or email]. Thank you for your service to our district."
💡
Pro tip: Always mention that you are a constituent from their district in the first sentence. Constituent status is what separates your call from everyone else's. A call from someone outside their district is a public comment. A call from inside their district is a constituent demand.
